Meet Dr. Lisa
Dr. Lisa Edwards is an accomplished educational leader, charter school developer, instructional strategist, and consultant with more than 30 years of experience serving students, educators, and school systems across the K–12 landscape.
A bilingual educator fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Edwards has held roles as teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, charter school founder, and educational consultant. Her expertise spans charter school development and implementation, charter petition writing and renewals, WASC accreditation, curriculum design, instructional leadership, teacher coaching, grant writing, and school improvement planning.
Throughout her career, Dr. Edwards has successfully led and supported schools in developing high-quality academic programs, strengthening instructional systems, improving student outcomes, and maintaining compliance with state and federal accountability requirements. Notably, she helped lead the approval of one of California's landmark charter schools through LAUSD, contributing to the state's first 100 charter schools.
Dr. Edwards holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Administrative Services and Single Subject Teaching Credentials, and master's and bachelor's degrees in Spanish. She has also served as a LACOE Teacher Mentor, supporting educators through coaching, professional learning, and instructional development.
